Now I am/was a Rugby Union supporter, but gees, this game is now so far behind Rugby League, it’s not funny. It’s that exciting, I can write this post as I watch the pinnacle of the sport, a Bledisloe game between Australia and the All Blacks and know I am not missing much as I type. Read on.

Last night, I watched the Rugby League game between the Tigers and the Eels. 80 minutes of non-stop action and excitement! But now……watching Australia vs. All Blacks…..boring as bat sh*t! Like all tests have been for a long time.

Time to surrender Union and accept what Rugby League offers you guys. They’ll take some of the backs who might make it into 2nd or 3rd division Rugby League. The forwards should all be offered up to the European Handball League, (because we know they cannot make it in Rugby League).

Someone needs to make the big call! :)

Gordan Bray……OMG……Yawn….zzzzzzzzzzzzzz….

Every time a League guy returns from Union to league, it’s great see an athlete being allowed to play sport again!

If you can take your eyes off an origin for 1 minute, you’ve missed a heap!

    Agreed.

Bledisloe; at any time…go to bathroom, come out, top yourself up with a drink – make a cocktail if that is your fancy, ask mates what you missed; generally nothing!

Rugby Union needs to take the “Rugby” out of the title. Why? For no other reason than “League” is tainted by the association!

  2. Andy Steingruebl says:

Ok, while I understand your feelings about pace and such, the whole nonsense of league and the complete elimination of the physical play of the game that isn’t just tackling is I think a big loss. Eliminating scrums, rucks, mauls, etc. seems like a big loss.

What other changes could be made that would maybe make the pace increase while eliminating the nonsense that is League is the play continuation silliness that makes the sport look like tackle soccer (yes, I’m an american).

  3. URANIDIOT says:

Your last words say it all. Not worth a response. As a troll though, you did well..some funny stuff. I assume you were trolling? If not, keen to hear you expand on your opinions.

  4. Andy Steingruebl says:

I actually wasn’t trolling. I’ve watched a fair amount of both sports and I understand your complaints about the pace of union, but league really does look like a cross between what most of the world calls football, and american football. It doesn’t have the ridiculous rules of australian rules (which frankly looks like grown men playing calvin-ball) but hey, that’s just me.

So, I wasn’t really trolling. Is your complaint just the pace of the games, the caliber of the players, or something I’m missing? Maybe I’m just looking for an education because I have played a fair bit of union and really did enjoy it.

  5. URANIDIOT says:

I must re-iterate my last post. :) So far Andy, you haven’t moved the goal posts so to speak on what sounds like a non-expert (read: dumb) opinion.

  6. Andy Steingruebl says:

So, I did express an opinion and also asked a few questions. I suppose you could have pointed me at a link or something, but decided name calling would be more fun…. hope you enjoyed it. :)

  7. Piers says:

Pg 49 Sunday Telegraph. Same story. :)

  8. URANIDIOT says:

Sorry Andy if I hurt your feelings. I still feel you are talking about different sports altogether. Maybe I am just not reading you right.
