With in-laws up there, I must admit to having a soft-spot for North Queenslanders. There’s been books written about them and regularly, they’ll come up with some beauties. Great start to another week:

Some absolute pearls of wisdom there Drazen – we can really learn a lot from the North Queenslanders.
I do believe, though, that the ‘invite the ugly women’ initiative was originally implemented by the mayor of Parramatta – any day of the week, just check out Parra mall (I can hear the banjos playing now).
I did also enjoy the Cairns Christmas party etiquette article, and I quote: “If you see the IT manager sitting on his own in a dark corner, help him out and go speak to him. The poor guy has problems fitting in.”
God only knows how they would deal with a security manager!
Should be adding that talking about pig hunting should be restricted to the gents bathroom or outside smoko.:-)

The poor lonely IT Managers? Gees, not the ones I know up there. I don’t think I have met one shy one who has trouble fitting in. The Big Galoot spent many a year up there, Michael B (not mentioning his surname just in case), MH and a whole plethora of guys we deal with on a regular basis. Did I mention there’s an SG Nth QLD office opening up soon?

@Suruchi Mohan I do believe that you are correct about Paramatta.
I remember one day when walking through the new sydney “CBD” aka Parramatta to my very swish office building along with all the other “Suits” going to their equally swish offices at 8.30 in the morning when a Huge fat guy in thongs and shorts goes bolting past, zigzaging through the crowd followed by …. an even fatter guy in thongs and a tracksuit waving a baseball bat. …. Very Nice.
Maybe they were on their way to a baseball game and one fat dude decided to steel his mate’s doughnut!
Maybe not…we don’t play baseball here.
