It’s either that response or something along the lines of; “What the hell is that all about?”, “I don’t understand it!”, “Looks like crap!”. I was of the same opinions when Wade introduced me to it a while ago. (Per chance, Wade’s latest post is on that exact topic). I signed up out of curiosity and followed what was going on.
Not much to begin with but then suddenly, people started to “follow” me and I them. Soon after, I realised, I was in touch with some really interesting people; well-known and not so well-known security researchers, other security bloggers, senior business execs, Web 2.0 media types, journos and other writers, and other people into all manner of interesting things. In addition, our Beast or Buddha readership started to grow.
Now I won’t say it’s all great and valuable information you’re going to see all the time. You won’t but there’s gold in there and it’s what you make of it. Wade’s tips are a good start.
It’s a small world also. You never know who turns up on your twitter as a follower. @Mediaphyter keeps a growing list of “twitters” from our industry. Shoot me down as a Web 2.0 fanboy if you like.

Welcome to the club
Once you blog about Twitter, you know it’s got a hold of you, and you it.
It’s too good not to blog about, everyone wants to share good things with their friends….
Nearly anybody who will listen to me ends up hearing about Twitter. I’m loving my personal network. I’ve got answers to questions I’d never be able to find out. It’s beyond Google.
Peace,
–Wade
damn, you even made me write about twitter.
DD, you big 2.0 guy you.
